Lymphatic Drainage for Fibromyalgia + Chronic Fatigue + Long COVID | A New Healing Approach
After 17 years of hands-on work, there are certain non-musculoskeletal conditions that I can feel immediately in people’s bodies. These include systemic inflammation, teething in babies, concussions, migraines, low thyroid, and also fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. Each of these has a distinct “feel” in the body.
And yet, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and long COVID/Epstein Barr are still largely misunderstood in both our culture and in medicine. They are often oversimplified/diminished, and the patient is almost blamed for their condition as an unresolved response to stress or trauma.
These conditions are very real and very complex, and include these real symptoms: fatigue, memory/concentration loss, brain fog, intolerance/pain with exercise, headaches, orthostatic intolerance (can’t be upright long), dizziness, muscle fatigue after mild activity, tender points in back/neck, joint pain that moves around, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, sleep disturbances (not mild), depression, anxiety, IBS, irrittable bladder, influenced by weather and activities, usually worse in morning than in evening.
Please know that I have felt the suffering in your bodies and that I am committed to helping you achieve your own vitality.
One of the challenges is that this population can be highly sensitive to physical treatments. Even helpful treatments can sometimes trigger flares, and I’ve never been comfortable pushing people into more symptoms, even if it’s part of healing. So, when I found a 3-day training with the Chikly Institute focused on lymphatic drainage for these conditions, I immediately signed up.
What I learned confirmed something important: the lymphatic system (our garbage disposal system of the body) plays a major role. When the body can’t clear inflammation effectively, it creates widespread fatigue, pain, and dysfunction. But it is much more than the lymphatics; we learned lympho-myofascial release techniques for the brain, heart ligaments, liver, sacrum, and more. SO EXCITING!
This work is gentle, specific, and designed to support the body without overwhelming it. The full protocol can take up to 30 to 45 minutes, and I recommend a series of three visits.
If you’ve been struggling with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, or lingering post-viral symptoms, this may be an important missing piece.
Meanwhile, HERE is a video of a simple lymphatic technique you can do at home.
